About the Game

Overview

Step aboard your starship and prepare for an intergalactic showdown in Don’t Lose Your Ship, a fast-paced, team-based 2D multiplayer game that combines strategy, coordination, and chaos. Inspired by beloved classics like Space Cadets: Dice Duel, FTL: Faster Than Light, and Among Us, this game pits two teams against each other in a battle for supremacy on a grid-based map. Do you have what it takes to lead your crew to victory?

Gameplay

In Don’t Lose Your Ship, players are divided into two teams, each commanding their own starship. Every match lasts 10-15 minutes, packing intense action into bite-sized battles. The objective is simple: destroy the enemy’s ship before they destroy yours. Success requires communication, teamwork, and quick thinking as you and your crew operate your ship’s various systems—each a unique mini-game—to outmaneuver and outgun the competition.

Key Features

  • Team-Based Mayhem: Each player controls a specific station on their ship. No one has all the answers—victory depends on sharing information and coordinating effectively with your teammates.

  • Dynamic Ship Systems: Take charge of key subsystems, each offering unique challenges:

    • Piloting: Chart your ship’s course across the grid map. Navigate around obstacles, collect energy, and position your ship to gain the upper hand. Timing and strategy are critical as you decide when to execute your maneuvers.

    • Engineering: The heart of the ship. Manage power distribution and repairs to keep your team’s systems running smoothly. Balance the needs of weapons, shields, and other systems to stay one step ahead of the enemy.

    • Weapons: Unleash devastating attacks. Choose between charging lasers or building torpedoes. Decide where to aim and when to fire to exploit weaknesses in the enemy’s defenses.

    • Defense: Protect your ship with strategic shield placement and sensor jamming. Counter enemy attacks by powering shields in the right direction or disrupting their plans.

    • Sensors: The ultimate scout. Gain complete visibility of the map and the enemy’s status. Share crucial intel with your team to inform their decisions, from enemy shield positions to imminent missile launches.

  • Energy Management: All systems draw power from the main engine. Energy is a precious resource—spend it wisely to outlast and outplay the enemy.

  • High-Stakes Communication: Your team’s success hinges on how well you share information. Sensors might spot the enemy’s plans, but without telling the Weapons officer, the opportunity is lost. Piloting decisions impact every system, making teamwork essential.

  • Party Game Fun: While you can play online with random players, Don’t Lose Your Ship truly shines when played with friends. Gather your crew in person for an unforgettable game night or connect over Discord, Zoom, or your favorite chat platform for chaotic fun and thrilling battles.
