About the Game

Die Severed is a gritty dice-based gambling roguelike. You've fallen into debt at the local underground casino, but lucky for you they're giving you one shot to win and pay back your debt with one last high stakes game.

The rules are simple: Roll five dice and build poker hands by spending re-rolls if you got 'em, or pray you get lucky. You've got up to four hands to make the target. If you fail, the house collects.

Second, Third, Fourth Chances

If you ever fail to reach a target, your gracious captors have given you some leeway. Instead of an instant end to your run, you simply lose one finger. But once they've taken all your fingers, you're out of luck -- your life is next.

Build Your Dice Pool

In between rounds, customize your dice pool with unique dice that have different numeric distributions and unique abilities, like the Iron Die that has repeated faces for easily building hands but can't be re-rolled.

Collect Powerful Abilities

In addition to customizing your dice pool, collect a multitude of abilities to create a unique build and make tough choices. Holding Back adds your remaining re-rolls to your score, forcing you to pick between keeping your rolls or pushing your luck for a better hand.
