About the Game

Beneath the applause, something is buried.

Derek was a psychedelic-rock comet — sold-out crowds, gold records, a voice a whole country sang back to him. Now you descend into his subconscious to dig it all back up: the music, the people, and the thing he spent a lifetime burying.

Derek's Rhapsody is a narrative puzzle game about memory, fame, and the cost of never being allowed to let anyone down. Tunnel through a living underground where every era of Derek's life becomes a place to explore — and a verse of his final song, Don't You Dare.

Dig. Listen. Uncover.

  • Five chapters, one life. From a childhood in a post-war England still rebuilding itself to the blinding peak of '70s rock stardom, each chapter is a world to excavate and a verse to complete.

  • A subconscious you can dig through. The ground shifts in texture, colour and sound as Derek's story darkens — from soft earth to something far less forgiving.

  • Cassettes that hold the memories. Unearth them to relive his triumphs, his loves and his losses.

  • Sound-driven puzzles. Crafted by a sound engineer, the game asks you to listen as much as look — resonance, rhythm and noise are part of the solution.

  • An original psychedelic rock score and a two-world art direction: the blinding stage on one side, the dark tunnel on the other, and the man caught between them.

Some truths are buried for a reason. How far will you go to exhume them ?
