About the Game

The President is dead. As the least incompetent cabinet member, you have been charged with leading the US response to the escalating zombie crisis.

Day Zero is a real-time strategy game about managing a rapidly emerging zombie apocalypse from the White House command bunker. Maintain order while your scientists race for a cure and keep the world from falling apart in the meantime.

FULL DISCLOSURE OR COVER-UP

Your advisors warn that full disclosure of the crisis would have catastrophic consequences for public order, but as the bodies pile up, the country will demand answers. Straddle the thin line between chaos and police-state with extensive policy and messaging options for managing public opinion and civil liberties.

CHOOSE WHO SURVIVES

Evacuate campaign donors and research staff first or the public at large? Members of the elite are pressing your administration to favor their interests in the crisis. Obviously, keeping them on our side isn't without its advantages…

MAINTAIN ORDER OR BURN IT DOWN

Extensive military options exist for managing the crisis. Separating civilians from the infected hordes is not easy. And people will not sit idly by while their homes are firebombed.

BUILD YOUR RESPONSE

Policy, Technology and Military upgrade trees each offer radically different paths through the crisis. No two outbreaks unfold the same way, and a bad call can unravel everything. Manage the international fallout through foreign policy options, survive to see multiple endings, and carry persistent upgrades into each new run.
