About the Game

Build by day. Hold by night.

Dawnkeep is a dark fantasy settlement-builder defense game. Raise a crumbling frontier keep with a handful of survivors — and hold it against what comes with the dark.

A settlement that breathes

Every villager is a person with a name, a trade, and a temperament of their own. Send them to fell timber, hunt for meat, fish the shallows, forage the woods, or raise new buildings. They tire, they rest, they react — fatigue, happiness, and morale shape how they work and how they fight.

The turning of day and night

  • Day — Expand the settlement, manage the economy, raise walls before the light fails.
  • Night — In darkness that reaches only as far as a torch, gnome warbands and beasts fall upon the village. Each night runs deeper and colder than the last.

From farmhand to soldier

When night comes, conscript your villagers. Command spearmen, knights, and archers in formation — flank the enemy, hold the line, break the charge. Soldiers remember what battle costs them; morale alone can decide a night.

Shaping your people

Villagers are born with traits — blessings and curses both. Cleanse what you don't want at the church, and single out the exceptional for your elite. Let word of your prosperity spread, and new settlers will arrive by ship.

Features

  • A living settlement — trades, names, traits, fatigue, happiness, morale
  • A survival defense loop that tightens with every night
  • Formation-based tactical combat — spearmen, knights, archers, priests
  • Walls and gates to shape your defense; watchtowers to man with archers
  • A deep economy — timber, stone, and gold, alongside three kinds of food

In this demo

Ten nights to survive. It begins with a few gnomes at your gate. See for yourself what arrives on the last one.
