About the Game

DALDZAH is a bedtime story about combining the traditional with the modern and uniting the divided. A kaleidoscope of the grandeur and beauty of the North Caucasus.

DEATH IS NO MORE

The Daughter of the Sun destroyed the cradle of death. Death is no more, leaving only the undead Namalats. The Child runs away from home to return the forgotten amulet to father and meet mother at the top. The mountain guides the child through places of worship. The child warms his way, learns about the past, present and future, reunites the mountain and the family.

MASH1O, THE CHILD OF DARKNESS, SUN, AND MANKIND

Interact with the world as a playful child
Mash1o is a small flame born of the blood of a Great Warrior, the light of the Daughter of the Sun and the darkness of the Lord of Death. And his legs burn as he runs. Warm the space by running in circles. Burn all obstacles on the way by dashing.

JOURNEY THROUGH DEITIES

Mountain changed with death gone
Mash1o visits 7 abodes, meeting deities from North Caucasian pagan religions and helping them with their problems. His path takes him through:
  • Ruins of the Land of the Dead, the abode of the Ossetian lord of death Barastyr
  • Tower Town, the abode of the Vainakh goddess of country Mehka-nana
  • Sun Fields, the abode of the Abazian goddess of bees Gwynda and the Abkhazian goddess of fertility Dzhadzha
  • Dried Great River’s Riverbed, the abode of the Vainakh goddess of water Hi-nana
  • Dark Broken Sky, the abode of the Kabardino-Balkarian deity of the sky Kek Teyrisi and the Adyghe incarnation of lightning Schyble
  • The Place of Sun and Moon, the abode of the Ossetian god of manhood Uastyrdzhi
  • The Top of Mountain, the abode of the Ossetian goddess of sun Atzyruhs

REMINISCENCES OF THE DEATH

The fragments of the world gone
The mythical past bursts into the present with a haze before the eyes of Mash1o. The mountain itself tells of the gods, the past of Mash1o's parents and the effects of death's destruction on the world.
