About the Game

Cyber Volleyball is a 2D volleyball battle game from a side-scrolling perspective, combining precise physics simulation, deep character progression, diverse enemy mechanics, and online multiplayer.

Realistic 2D Volleyball Physics

The game uses a Unity-based 2D parabolic physics engine, fully simulating the effects of gravitational acceleration, object weight, air resistance, and friction on ball movement. Every bounce, deceleration, and collision with the court, net, and players is calculated in real time. The game implements a strict three-hit system following international volleyball rules, with visual UI feedback showing the current hit count. Two trajectory prediction lines—high and low—are drawn on screen to help you anticipate the landing point and make the best play.

Diverse Characters and Enemies

The game features over a dozen character types, each with unique AI behavior and exclusive skills:

  • Main Attacker: Powerful spikes, the finisher in head-to-head battles

  • Setter: Receives and distributes passes, the core of offensive organization

  • Middle Blocker: A versatile player skilled in both blocking and quick attacks

  • Libero: A defensive specialist focused on receiving and digging

  • Hunter: Possesses pursuit abilities, striking the ball with tremendous force

  • Claw: Instantly pulls the ball toward itself for surprise attacks

  • Shockwave: Generates a shockwave on spikes, knocking back opposing players

  • Violence: Spikes carry devastating additional effects

  • Ice: Attacks can briefly freeze opponents, locking down their movements

  • Eater: Swallows the ball and controls its movement

  • Builder: Creates obstacles in front of the net for blocking

  • Shooter: Charges up and precisely fires the ball at targeted positions

Each enemy requires different tactics to overcome, keeping every match fresh and engaging.

Stages and Adventure Mode

The game offers multiple modes to choose from:

  • Tutorial Mode: Learn the game's controls and rules step by step

  • PVE Mode: Challenge AI opponents of varying difficulty levels

  • PVP Mode: Local battles against friends

  • EVE Mode: Watch thrilling AI vs. AI matches

  • Adventure Mode: Conquer multiple stages and face increasingly powerful enemy combinations

The stage system supports paginated browsing with 28 stages per page, each offering up to a three-star rating. As difficulty increases, some stages trigger special mechanics—such as making enemy players invisible—testing your reflexes and judgment. All stage star data is saved locally, so you can review your progress at any time.

Character Card and Progression System

Through the card system, you can deeply customize your team. The game features two types of cards: Character Cards and Item Cards.

Character Cards offer 9 upgradeable attributes: Size, Defense, Jump, Speed, Strength, Reaction, Spike Range, Dig, and Dash. Spend stars earned from stages to upgrade, with each point directly affecting your players' actual in-game performance.

Item Cards provide various match effect bonuses, including:

  • Increasing the maximum team size

  • Removing the opponent's first-touch effect

  • Displaying the ball's landing point prediction

  • Adding a freezing effect to attacks

  • Making the ball lighter as hit count increases

Strategically combine cards to build your ultimate lineup.

Online Multiplayer

Through the built-in lobby system, you can create or join public rooms to battle other players online. When creating a room, you can set a password, maximum player count, and visibility, with automatic matchmaking also available to quickly find opponents.

Inside a room, you can freely choose positions such as Main Attacker, Middle Blocker, Setter, or Libero. The system checks for duplicate positions within the same team to ensure balanced lineups. Once all players are ready, the match begins immediately. The game uses a server-authoritative network architecture to ensure fair synchronization of physics calculations and match results. Real-time chat messages during matches allow you to communicate with opponents and teammates.

Comprehensive Settings and Customization

The game provides a complete settings system, covering volume adjustment (independent control of Master, BGM, and SFX), display effects (glow on/off, customizable ball trail color gradients), key bindings (fully customizable keyboard controls), and mobile touch sensitivity adjustment. All settings are saved automatically and can be restored to defaults at any time. The game also supports one-touch toggling between fullscreen and windowed mode with F11.

Dual-Platform Control Support

Supports both keyboard (arrow keys to move, spacebar to jump, J/K/L for actions) and mobile touch gesture controls. On mobile, swipe direction and length are recognized and mapped to different volleyball actions, letting you enjoy a match anytime, anywhere.
