Cryptid Contingent was designed to deliver the mechanical depth of modern MOBAs in a rogue-like package. Here, learning to exploit mechanics and break the game is not just expected, but it is required to prevail. Every failed run is an opportunity to learn, and there is much to learn.

DEVISE (STRANGELY) POWERFUL BUILDS

Enemies will often carry items that make them more challenging to defeat. However, defeating these enemies will grant you the opportunity to add those items to your arsenal! Unfortunately, your bag has limited space, so you'll need to make smart choices about which items to keep and which ones to leave behind.

A WEALTH OF CAREFULLY CRAFTED ITEMS

You will not find mountains of boring stat-bonuses here. Each of our 117 collectable items was designed with a purpose and to interact deeply with its siblings. Found an item that allows you to transform enemies into money? Great! Can you find a way to remove its cooldown?

Don't let the cute style deceive you! The forest is does not welcome the weak. Only those who spend their time efficiently, learn to exploit opportunity, and attend to details will survive.
