About the Game

This is a realistic life simulation game focusing on the career of an individual software developer.

There are no set paths. Whether to focus on becoming an expert developer admired by the community, work in potential unicorn startups to get rich, or try to have a calm life just waiting for retirement, it's all up to your own choices.

Your Own Journey

  • Your character starts their journey as a young adult. You will be by their side for many in-game years.

  • The game ends when you complete the major goal of the different paths that can be taken (e.g. become a millionaire, get enough expertise as developer to be considered an industry leader, survive until retirement)

  • You will decide the direction of their career: go to college or not, learn new skills with online content or rely on your initial knowledge, work overtime or try to have more free time...

  • You can lose if your character reaches critical levels in certain aspects of their life (e.g. burnout, buried in debt, unhealthy habits)

Money

  • At the beginning, your character will be still living with their parents, so rent will be free. But expect to pay rent for your own apartment sooner or later, depending of your actions.

  • You can purchase better furniture for your room (e.g. PCs, consoles...), but be careful with your expenses to avoid getting in debt.

  • When you find a job, your employer will pay you every two in-game weeks. Manage your paychecks carefully.

Grow as a Software Developer

  • You can start your journey by getting into college, or jump straight to work after completing a bootcamp.

  • After that, you will be able to level-up your skills with online courses.

  • Leveling-up your character involves answering real-world software engineering questions. Try to answer them correctly and your character will grow quicker!
