About the Game

A Missive from the Council

Candidate Archmage,

The Council is considering your application to to be appointed Archmage-General in charge of the Great Ritual.

We would like to remind all candidates what this commitment entails:

  • You will be allowed to recruit any mage available in the Kingdom

  • You will be responsible for building the defenses to repel the assaults of the Imperial army

  • You will crush the ignorant devotees of the Old Lies before they can disrupt the Great Ritual

To perform these tasks, you will have unlimited access to the highest forms of magic available to the Kingdom:

  • Evocation, to master mana

  • Alchemy, to produce wondrous crystals

  • Chronomancy, to master time itself

  • Illusion, to thwart our enemies

  • Protection, to keep our Kingdom safe

  • Necromancy, to overwhelm our opponents

Your tasks will be monitored by the Council at all times. In the extremely unlikely event of a disaster, the Elders stand ready with the most extreme of precautions: ChronoRewind.

A strategic puzzle game with idle elements

ChronoRewind: The Great Ritual tasks you with the completion of the fabled Great Ritual, while the Kingdom is under attack by enemies that get fiercer over time and forces that try to destabilize it from the inside.

As the Archmage-General, you can:

  • Recruit mages to generate mana

  • Distribute your mana between powering the Great Ritual and expenses for defense and research

  • Learn 60 different magical skills from 6 different schools of magic

  • Deploy various types of defenses and upgrade them through magical crystals

  • Earn permanent upgrades through Arcane Knowledge

The gameplay is centered around common idle mechanics (like timers and prestige resets), however it requires frequent player attention, as the enemies of the Kingdom grow constantly more powerful and the difficulty of the game increases over time.

A mysterious Kingdom

As the game progresses, you will receive missives from the Council that hint at the story of a world in danger...
