About the Game

Learn chess openings by playing them.

Chessferatu turns chess opening study into a playable chess training game. Instead of memorizing lines from a book, you choose an opening, play through the position, and learn what that opening is trying to create on the board.

Pick an opening, choose a mode, and start playing. Chessferatu builds memory through repeated playable positions while turning theory into practical board awareness.

Three ways to train

Openings Battle lets you fight through opening lines against themed opponents.

Openings Study gives you focused practice with opening families and variations.

Battle Free for All lets you play with live move evaluation and keep testing your decisions.

The game does not stop when theory ends.

Real opponents do not always stay on book. In Chessferatu, the battle continues when the opponent leaves theory, forcing you to use the position your opening created instead of simply recalling the next memorized move.

Live move evaluation shows where your decisions are strong, where they are weak, and how off-book moves can be refuted before the game is over.

Built around real chess practice

Chessferatu includes over 35 opening families and with individual variations. Its off-book play is built from a massive database of analyzed games, helping opponents leave theory in natural, human ways.

Study the opening. Survive the position. Learn by playing.
