Harvest, process, and sell fruit to upgrade your robot, raise your tier through reassembly, and obtain gears to become even stronger. More dangerous areas will have higher quality fruit.

You can upgrade the robot using scrap

Reset some elements through reassembly to raise your tier and obtain gears

Permanent upgrades and equipment upgrades are possible through gears
