The Game
Cease to Breathe isn't some eighty hour epic with realistic looking graphics. No, it's more of a love letter to an era of gaming that I hold very dear to my own heart. If you remember sitting in front of a giant CRT monitor, painstakingly trying to beat games like Uninvited, Deja Vu, Shadowgate, WIlly Beamish, Police Quest or Ultima Vii, chances are you'll appreciate this game.
The Plot
After plunging your car balls deep into a tree on the side of the road, you find yourself in front of an old colonial house in the middle of nowhere. The door is wide open and a storm is fast approaching. While the sane, logical thing to do would be to sit tight and wait for help, you do the complete opposite and head inside where you're greeted by a few unsolved, albeit recent, murders, hundreds of interactive objects and an incomprehensible mystery just begging to be solved.
The ... Other Stuff
Don't expect the game to hold your hand... it won't.
Instead, embrace the freedom of being able to examine, punch and ingest just about anything that crosses your path. Do it for the LOLZ. It's cheaper than therapy! Hell, it's only $5.00! Truth be told, if you're as old as me, you've probably wondered why developers didn't continue to make these types of tongue-in-cheek adventure games.
So come on, what are you waiting for? Buy now and get endless objects that do nothing, hours of frustration, and a narration that pokes fun at all the stupid and idiotic things you'll end up doing. Our operators are standing by!
