Theo and Kallie are on their way out for a fun night at the club. Little do they know that monsters lurk in the shadows... waiting for a patsy, a snack, or maybe a saviour. The night will tell.
Calm the Storm is a branching game that combines the experience of a narrative podcast with the interactive decision-making of a choose-your-own-path story or visual novel, letting the listener choose their preferred outcome for the story. Will Theo unlock hidden powers? Will Kallie take arms and fight a vampire? Only you can decide.
Ludic Lemur is excited to release this narrative experiment to audiences for free. And it is an experiment. We're pretty sure this hands-free, voice-controllable adventure is the first game of its kind, intended to be accessible for people who are visually impaired, with closed captioning for people who are Deaf and/or hard of hearing and a voice-command interface for people with manual and/or visual impairments.
Since launching, we have collected feedback from Playability, AccessAbility, and a core group of players. We've updated the prototype with accessibility adjustments, including the ability to pause, skip forward, and some graphic updates. We are hard at work on a new, full-length game that will pick up where Calm the Storm left off. Follow this game in order to get updates about that companion game.
*Please note, Calm the Storm contains mild profanity and low-gore violence.
