Stuck in a dead-end town with plans that go nowhere, Jackie feels as if her life is doomed to stagnancy forever. Getting by with the support of a few similarly disenfranchised friends, she's resigned to her fate in a small town- until a chance encounter with a deadly life-form sets in motion a chain of events that will force her and her friends to adapt or become bug food.
With nowhere to go and less people to trust, Jackie will have to uncover the mysteries surrounding a seemingly unstoppable killing spree that covers her town, before she well and truly becomes stuck here forever.
Brood Year is a slasher-mystery horror with dynamic choices, changing story-lines and endings depending on the player's choices. Drawn in a dark pixel-punk style evocative of retro-adventure games, it is fully animated from scenes to character sprites. Written as a horror short film, multiple playthroughs are required to uncover all potential routes.
