About the Game

BrickWorks is a game creation and modding platform, utilising Unreal Engine 5 to deliver a high-fidelity brick-built creative experience to a wide range of hardware.

With BrickWorks, our goal is to create a platform for creating game experiences in the traditional brick-built style, with a heavy focus on custom content and the ability to make bespoke games, entirely from within the BrickWorks platform.

As a player, what you can expect from the BrickWorks platform, is the ability to create experiences that other players will enjoy, and more importantly come back to consistently.

Players will create using our custom 'NodeBlocks' visual scripting system, which will allow complex gameplay interactions and other scripted features to be developed. NodeBlocks will be an abstract scripting system that anybody can pick up quickly. Our system aims to provide an easy workflow to users, allowing them to form an understanding of the concepts of both programming, and game development, without spending too much time learning the often complicated and convoluted syntaxes of traditional programming languages. Games and experiences created within BrickWorks can be uploaded and shared to the Steam Workshop.

We hope that the BrickWorks community will grow to become a group of players and developers who we can interact with and plan to maintain a Steam Community forum. On this forum, we aim to be very pro-active within the community, allowing our players to suggest ideas for the platform, or games we plan to create with it. We also would love community members to give feedback and submit bug reports to us.

The goal of this project is to make a platform for everyone, whether they are playing on Windows, Linux, or Mac. We also aim to fully support game controllers, for playing and creating games on the platform, and as a result the full BrickWorks suite of tools, and all of the games created as a result, will support the Steam Deck and other handhelds.
