About the Game

Bowlatro, is a rogue-lite bowling game where every game is different from the last one. Unlock items that do stuff, experiment with relics that also do stuff, and choose from a variety of balls (they do stuff too) to make each game unique.

Relics: Powerful Stuff

Each game of Bowlatro begins with a relic selection, letting you choose a relic that you can build your run off of. Relics are essentially items but way stronger. Discover new relics as you progress and experiment with different playstyles.

Examples of Relics:

  • Explosive Pin: Transforms a normal pin into an explosive one that sends nearby pins flying.

  • Striker: Boosts your score by 50% for each strike, but pins hit on your second shot no longer count. BUY THIS!!!!

  • Reroller: Rerolls the number of active pins each frame.

  • Bumpers: Add bouncy bumpers.

Relics are good.

Item Shop: Buy lots of stuff

Every three frames, the item shop opens, offering a range of items that will help you progress through the run. Items range from unique pins with special effects to modifiers that amplify your score. Items can synergize together or really not synergize together. So, buy stuff that works in order to succeed.

Examples of Items:

  • Baby Pin Launcher: Adds a pin that, when hit, launches two smaller pins in different directions.

  • Grapple Pin: Hooks onto the farthest pin in the lane and pulls it closer, perfect for those banana split scenarios.

  • Score Multiplier Reroll: Multiplies your score based on the number of rerolls you’ve used. (Only appears if you have the rerolling relic, obviously)

BALLS!

As you progress, you can unlock new balls. They do stuff, see below for one example.

cool right?

Resetters: Put the ball back to the starting point

What happens after you shoot the ball, before you can shoot your next shot?

The ball needs to be put back at the shooting point. You see I could teleport the ball back to that point but that's boring. So, instead I will move the ball back to the start, now that's exciting. But how I hear you asking? Well you see, ball resetters, that's how.

We got boats, buckets, magnets, you name it*

*Do not actually name it I only put in a handful of resetters at the moment.

Ascension Modifiers: You know where I got this idea from

Winning a game in Bowlatro is just the beginning. Each victory unlocks a new Ascension Modifier. These modifiers alter the core mechanics, giving you more challenging scenarios.

Examples of Ascension Modifiers:

  • Pins Farther Apart: Pins spawn farther away from each other, making it harder to knock them all down.

  • Reduced Earnings: Earn less money per game.

  • Stronger Pins: Pins become harder to knock down.

Buy the game: Or don't. I'm surprised you read this far.
