About the Game

Bloodrust is a minimalist, old-school first-person dungeon crawler. Lead a party of four Ferric Wardens into the Ashwoods to clear the Blood Rust, a curse that spreads through metal and turns the world wrong. Step carefully. Learn the halls. Spend your resources like they won’t come back.

Old-school dungeon crawling, stripped down

  • Grid-based movement for deliberate, readable exploration.
  • No endless skill trees to puzzle through, no inventory mini-games just simple choices, and no unnecessary bloat. It's just you, your party, and a dungeon that wants you dead.

Lead the Ferric Wardens

  • Control a party of four characters with distinct roles, from a selection of 8 classes with sub-class style alternates.
  • Your choices matter... who you bring, what you spend, and when you commit.

Active combat and tight resources

  • Real-time fights where pressure builds fast.
  • Resources are limited and momentum is everything.

One dungeon with one goal.

  • A single handcrafted dungeon: the Ashwoods: one map, and one objective, not a huge sprawling world full of multiple levels and complexities.
  • This isn’t a roguelike, there is no meta-progression and no unlocking between runs.
  • Start a run, push through, finish the story a complete experience you can clear in a few sessions. Expected playtime is intended to hit the 2-3 hour range for a full 'd&d campaign experience' in 1 play.

Development status

Bloodrust is in pre-alpha and in active development. Core systems are playable today (grid movement, combat, the Ashwoods map, and the party system), with enemy variety, loot & gear, and balance in progress as development continues.
