BLOK is a first-person psychological horror game that takes inspiration from Orwell's '1984'.
Years after fleeing the country for political reasons, you return to your old apartment block, brought back by a strange letter from your mother. The neighborhood seems to be the same. But something is not right. It is almost too perfect. And the more you search the more cracks you find.
Explore the neighborhood, solve environmental puzzles, and uncover the truth shaped by fear, silence, and control. Traces of life under a regime based on secrecy and repression. As you investigate, the world subtly transforms around you.
BLOK offers:
First-person atmospheric exploration in retro aesthetics that perfectly fit the tone and memories of 90s eastern european neighbourhood.
Story-driven gameplay with environmental storytelling that touches on life under a regime and historical events
Meaningful puzzles integrated into the narrative and the story
Changes in space and tone as the story and the mystery unfolds
Hauntingly familiar yet nostalgic world inspired by post-communist Poland
Customization of a "retro" look. Adjust pixelation, color precision etc. in the settings
The story doesn’t tell you everything. It lets you find it. Hidden in walls, staircases, basement and buried in layers of memories and silence.
