About the Game

BLACK STARS – THE M87 CONFLICT

Black Stars – The M87 Conflict is a galactic 4X strategy game built from the ground up for virtual reality. A compatible VR headset is required.

Take command of one of five playable factions and fight for control of a three-dimensional galaxy containing 270 accessible star systems and a total of 1,367 planets. Colonize worlds, exploit asteroid fields, terraform hostile planets, and develop an interstellar economy based on money, energy, and raw materials.

STRATEGY IN THREE-DIMENSIONAL SPACE

The galaxy map surrounds you as a spatial command interface. Systems are positioned above, below, and around you. Height, depth, distance, and different approach vectors become genuine strategic factors.

For lower-end CPUs, the 180 outer systems can be disabled. The campaign will then focus on the 90 systems of the inner region.

FLEETS AND ORBITAL WARFARE

Assemble fleets from ten specialized ship classes, capture strategically important systems, and bombard enemy targets from orbit.

Planetary invasions are simulated based on the forces involved and the planet’s defensive strength. There are no separately playable ground battles—the focus remains entirely on galactic strategy and space warfare.

Spacefighter squadrons orbit and protect motherships and orbital fortresses. To attack these critical targets, you must first break through their fleets and orbital defenses.

THE MOTHERSHIP DECIDES THE WAR

The mothership is the heart of every faction. If it is destroyed, the entire faction is immediately eliminated from the current game.

Construct Black Star megastructures to harness the energy of entire stars, but defend your investments carefully: planets, fortresses, and Black Stars can all be destroyed by enemy attacks.
