About the Game

Beneath the Shadow

In an alternate Tokyo, the sky has gone dark and never lifts. For Kazusa, an 18-year-old on the edge of graduating high school, it starts as just another day to get through. But the longer the darkness lingers, the more the world around her begins to slip — and what felt ordinary quietly turns to madness.

Adapted from the creator's original novel, Beneath the Shadow brings the written story to life with illustration and an original score, built to pull you deeper into its world. This is a fixed, linear narrative — there are no branching paths and no choices to make. Your role is to move the story forward and witness Kazusa's descent exactly as it was written to unfold.

What to expect:

  • A roughly 3-hour single-sitting psychological horror story

  • A fixed, linear narrative adapted from the creator's original novel

  • Original artwork and music crafted to immerse you in its world

  • Atmospheric moments where the story appears to pause — until you prompt it to continue, drawing you further in

  • A dark, oppressive tone from start to finish

  • Save and reload at any point

This is a reading-focused experience built on mood, dread, and story rather than gameplay mechanics. If you're drawn to atmosphere and a slow, creeping sense of unease, step beneath the shadow.
