A Build'Em Up
B-Type: Space Builder is mix between two very distinct genres: shoot'em up (SHMUP or shooters) and Strategy/Base Building. I like to call it a Build'em Up.
The focus is definitely on the strategy, but the shooter gameplay makes it way more enjoyable and allows you to make a difference with pure skill!
Retro vibes
B-Type has been made using the TIC-80 fantasy console. It's a software that emulates the limitations and performances of retro consoles. Those hard limitations breed creativity and encourage me focus on the essence of what is fun instead of adding tons of content.
About the creator
I'm Darenn! I made games at Ubisoft for 3 years before going indie in solo. Creating a game alone is a challenge, but it's incredibly rewarding and it offers you (the players) a unique and personal experience (thinking about undertale, stardew valley and braid). Check out all the platforms in the links section and follow me anywhere you prefer to see the behind-the-scenes.
The past of this game
This game started as a prototype I released on Itch.io called Last In Space. I started working on my next release, Dawnfolk, but I'd kept working on Last In Space from time to time to relax and hoping I can release a more complete version one day. B-Type is that new version!
