About the Game

Jack is looking for his sister Layla. Following clues, he soon finds himself in a secluded forest. Before long, it becomes clear that Jack is not alone. And whoever — or whatever — is in there with him has no intention of letting him leave.

Inspired by the works of writers like H. P. Lovecraft and Stephen King, Awaken is a short side scroller horror game with emphasis on environmental storytelling and narrative-driven gameplay.

Exploration in Awaken is highly encouraged. Through character dialogues, item descriptions and environmental cues, you can shed light on what is truly going on in this forest.

Gameplay consists mostly of laid back exploration with a few instances of combat and shocking revelations. In Awaken, every encounter means something.

Disturbing moments and difficult moral dilemmas will test your resolve. It becomes clear that what we consider good or bad is relative. There are no right choices in this game.

Awaken features classic pixel art style utilizing some modern techniques, an original acoustic guitar soundtrack, a troubling story and an eerie atmosphere!
