About the Game

Auris is a 2D puzzle-platformer where you experience the world through sound. You play as Jake, a blind child trapped in a coma, navigating a dreamscape using echolocation. The environment is completely dark and only becomes visible when you create sound. Your footsteps, jumps, and thrown objects emit sound waves that briefly reveal platforms, hazards, enemies, and hidden paths. Players must use these mechanics to time movements, plan routes, and avoid danger as the world fades back into darkness. Core gameplay includes precision platforming, solving environmental puzzles, and using objects like rocks to scout ahead or trigger interactions. Enemies react to sound, requiring stealth, timing, or confrontation, and each level features unique challenges and boss encounters based on Jake’s fears, including clowns, bats, and mind-controlling creatures. As players progress, new mechanics and obstacles are introduced, increasing difficulty and requiring greater control of movement and sound. Throughout the game, Jake encounters figures from his life who guide him forward. The objective is to complete levels, overcome increasingly complex challenges, and help Jake confront his fears to wake from the coma.
