Climb up to the attic. Your old wooden train set is still here.

Lay track across the floorboards and the rug, over viaducts and round the furniture, then couple up the trains and send them off. Rain taps on the roof, the lamps glow, and the afternoon light slides slowly across the floor.

Build it piece by piece

The track clicks together the way wooden track should. Drag pieces from the build menu, or draw a line across the floor and watch the track grow along it. Raise it on supports, throw the switches, add signals and stations, and build a little village around the line.

Ride along

Let the trains run themselves on autopilot, or take the throttle and ride in the cab: past the bed, under the desk chair, up over the viaduct.

An attic that lives through the day

Morning light, golden hour through the window, and evenings when the lamps come on. Every lamp in the attic switches on and off.

Toys everywhere

• Die-cast cars: seven realistic toy cars, a brick garage to park them in, and shipping containers for the port crane

• An aquarium on the shelf, with swaying plants, bubbles and its own light

• Board games: chess, checkers, dominoes, four in a row and more

• A cassette player, a CRT TV and a VCR that really play

• A Polaroid camera, a doodle pad, a xylophone and a pocket virtual pet

And a cat

It naps somewhere cozy, chases its toys, and when it's on the line, the trains stop and wait.

Nothing bad ever happens here. Probably.
