About the Game

As Duty Demands is a first-person narrative psychological horror experience centered on exploration, observation, and interpretation.

You play as Coral, a nurse who accepts a position at the Naval Retirement Home Del Bono — a secluded facility for forgotten war veterans, ruled by a former admiral obsessed with discipline and authority. What begins as a routine job quickly reveals a place shaped by control, neglect, and unresolved trauma.

Explore a facility where meaning is hidden in plain sight

There are no puzzles to solve and no enemies to fight. Instead, progression comes from careful exploration and active analysis of the environment. Crumpled newspapers, personal notes, medical documents, and the admiral’s own writings must be examined, unfolded, and read to reconstruct what happened within the facility — and why.

Every object tells part of the story, but nothing explains itself.

A reality shaped by ideology

Through environmental storytelling and written material, you uncover Admiral Del Bono’s philosophy: discipline as religion, authority as virtue, consent as an obstacle. His publications and methods reveal how a place meant for healing became something far more disturbing.
