About the Game

-- GAME IN DEVELOPMENT, MANY THINGS SUBJECT TO CHANGE --

Build the company behind the models

It is 2017—before the generative-AI boom reshapes the world. You have a bare office, limited capital, and a conviction about where the industry is going.

Artificial Ambition is a real-time management strategy game about building an AI company through a history-inspired technological race. Hire the people, acquire the data, finance the compute, and find a path from technical progress to a sustainable business.

Every opportunity creates a new bottleneck.

Choose where to compete

Commit your company to language systems, computer vision, AI agents, generative media, or cloud and data technology.

Train frontier models, develop products ranging from chatbots and enterprise APIs to creative tools, autonomous systems and AI infrastructure, and decide when to specialize or expand beyond your original focus.

The market will not reward every field equally forever.

Assemble the company that can deliver

Hire data specialists, researchers, engineers, marketers and managers. Recruit scarce specialties as the industry evolves, assign teams, and choose Project Leads who improve coordination and develop their own leadership careers.

Acquire and refine Text and Media data. Invest in successive GPU generations, rent serving capacity when necessary, and build owned infrastructure when scale justifies the cost.

Before starting product development, choose an audience, balance design tradeoffs, select the team and commit to a marketing plan. Once work begins, use the War Room to track expected quality, adoption, compute requirements, costs, revenue and break-even.

When development runs into dataset problems, hardware failures or team conflict, choose what the company is willing to spend—and what weakness it is willing to ship.

Ship into a market that fights back

Set prices, choose serving quality, install permanent capabilities and release major versions as products mature.

Success creates its own problems. A popular launch can overwhelm your infrastructure, destroy margins and shed users. Specialized rivals compete for market share while regulatory scrutiny, legal risk and public controversy grow alongside your influence.

Raise capital to buy time, but understand the bargain: dilution, investor targets and board oversight can eventually cost you control of the company.

Make the transformation visible

Build and furnish a multi-floor headquarters as the company grows. Create departments, offices, data-center space and shared areas, then watch employees work, travel between floors and use the environment you designed.

Research paradigms, GPU generations, market waves, industry news and regulation continue to reshape the landscape. The strategy that wins one era may leave the company dangerously exposed in the next.
