About the Game

The plot:

"Art of Ism" is the first entry of a planned series.
Having a completely fresh start thanks to being the new girl in town, our main protagonist, Ashley, intends to befriend her fellow lonely new classmates, forming an unlikely friend group.

See? What a wholesome story! Definitely nothing suspicious going on in the background, nuh-uh! Not at all. Do you think they believe me now? I mean, they say a lie repeated many times becomes the truth...

Fine, you got me! The new headmaster investigates the mysteries of the school, including the disappearance of the previous headmaster. It's something I am definitely not connected to at all, nuh-uh, so stop asking! More importantly, it's also something that the students will be dragged into after finding out their connection to the mystery of not just the school, but the town as a whole.

Um... Maybe let's change the subject before I spoil everything, shall we?

Characters:

The cast consists of timeless character archetypes, such as:

  • Ashley - the nice girl protagonist:

  • Brian - a geeky nerd:

  • Devon - a delinquent bully:

  • Megan - a gloomy girl:

  • Mick O'Phone - a loveable chill guy:

  • Roxanne - a rich queen bee:

  • Samantha - a shy girl and an otaku:

  • Zack - a competitive jock:

  • Mark - a relaxed yet serious casanova headmaster:

  • Jennifer - a slightly tsundere hot strict teacher:

  • Chip - a friendly and goofy teacher:

  • Gus - an experienced janitor ready to help students with life advice:

  • and finally ??? - an individual working from the shadows who may or may not be writing this right now:

    See? Told ya they're classics!

Features:

  • 10 chapters worth of story (including a short Prologue and Epilogue)

  • BG, CG, OST, and sprites galleries

  • 3 Bad Ends and a True End

  • 4 different POVs to form one story - watch the events unfold from the perspective of our main female lead - Ashley, our male lead - Brian, the headmaster investigating the school, and ???, an enigmatic individual providing some insight on the behind-the-scene plot

  • Bondings - a mini-game where Ashley discusses various topics to befriend her classmates. Some topics positively affect their relationship, some negatively, and some don't affect it at all. I've heard the ending is determined by relationship status with certain specific characters, so keep that in mind when deciding which ending you want to go for!

  • Confrontations - a mini-game where Ashley (and later her friends) deal with some kind of obstacle, each character in their own way. You can think of it as boss fights based on arguments, I suppose?

  • Deductions - a hangman's gambit-like mini-game where you try to fill in the gaps of the answer with selectible letters

  • Spot Selection - simply press a specific part of the background to discuss it. I've heard collecting all the logos this way will unlock an additional dialogue at one point. But shh, you didn't hear it from me! I didn't spoil anything, it was just...some guide that told you that!
