It started with a flyer someone dropped
Into a frozen job market, out of a third-rate university, with nothing going for him — that's Saeki, our protagonist, who picks up a shady flyer on his way home: "Detective's assistant — urgently wanted! No experience needed. High pay… possible, maybe?" The day he steps into the deeply suspicious Followspot Detective Agency, the breezy director hires him on the spot — and then promptly disappears. Left behind: a sharp-tongued senior assistant, Nao, and a steady trickle of small cases.
Not spectacle — people's reasons
No grisly murders, no grand conspiracies. What you solve here are the circumstances and truths of ordinary people. You work the streets, listen, and crack each case with a flash of insight — because behind every case there's a "why it had to be this way." A slice-of-society mystery where comic banter and quiet sorrow live side by side.
A retro-PC screen that draws itself
Line & paint — evoking the PC-88/98 and X68000 — recreates the look of old PC games where the picture is "drawn" onscreen from line art to color, restaged with a modern touch. Dusky teal and warm bulb-light echo the nostalgia of the early 2000s.
