About the Game

You are the signal.

A small lighthouse on a dark coast. Lost souls drift in the water, searching for shore. Something else is out there, creeping inward whenever the light looks away. You are the only thing standing between them.

One beam. Two jobs.

  • Hold the outer glow on a soul and it follows your light home.

  • Focus the inner core on the dark and it retreats and burns.

  • You can only do one at a time. Every second is a quiet decision.

A vigil that gets harder the longer you hold it.

Moon phases drive the pressure. Fog shrinks what you can see. Storms push the souls off course. Allies surface from the deep when the night turns ugly, and the keeper talks on the radio through it all — to herself, to the sea, to whoever is still listening.

From a top 5% jam game into a full release.

Lighthouse's Vigil started as a 72-hour entry to Ludum Dare 59, where it placed in the top 5% out of ~1,600 games (Mood and Audio especially). The Steam version is the expansion we always wanted to build — more nights, more weather, more of what worked, and the systems we couldn't fit the first time. Every piece of supportive, generous feedback we got during the jam is going into this version.

"The light went out."
