Story Overview:

The story takes place on an isolated island—or rather, a place that can no longer perceive the world beyond its shores. Electricity generated through the conversion of light energy is the island’s sole source of power, and the power plant has become the island’s most vital “heart,” cherished and worshipped by its inhabitants. All essential goods are distributed through a centralized rationing center.

The seemingly limitless supply of light energy has ensured that the island’s infrastructure and technology have never faced serious difficulties. As a result, people have come to believe that this energy source is inexhaustible, developing a near-religious devotion to it. However, that belief cannot last forever, and eventually everything begins to approach its end.

Unlike the fervent believers, some islanders recognize the coming crisis much earlier. As society faces the prospect of collapse and reconstruction, their own lives are challenged in different ways. Each of them responds to these changes differently.

The story is told through alternating perspectives, shifting between three main protagonists.
