About the Game

WordJoy is a puzzle game that blends Chinese character learning with solitaire-style card mechanics.

The game features more than 300 Chinese character components and over 3,000 characters. Your task is to find solutions among multiple columns of stacked component cards. Only the exposed card at the top of each column can be moved. A component with fewer strokes may only be placed on one with exactly one additional stroke. Through observation, rearrangement, and careful planning, you must gradually remove obstacles and uncover the components needed to form the target characters.

Each puzzle contains two target characters. You must move radicals and components into the target columns in the correct order, reconstructing each character by hand. The game tests logical reasoning while helping you become familiar with stroke patterns, radical structures, and the relationships between different character forms through observation, decomposition, and recombination.

There is no countdown and no pressure to earn points. Think, experiment, and retrace your steps at your own pace. When stuck, you can undo your previous move or generate a new puzzle to examine the character forms and possible movement paths from a different perspective.

As you progress, target characters will consist of more components, and card layouts will become increasingly complex. Each completed puzzle is both a victory in strategic card movement and a fresh exploration of Chinese character structure.

Discover Chinese characters through puzzles. Understand their forms through composition. Experience their beauty through quiet contemplation.
