About the Game

You have been selected to work in the Media Regulation Branch, the front lines in the fight for truth and national purity. Report to Office Building Number: 171 Room: 152 by the end of the day. Your duty? Safeguard NewMerican values, ensure only that trustworthy information reaches the public.

As stated in your employ handbook section C page 14 under the 5th stanza of the 3rd paragraph you are to be filtering out and stamping all information the public is allowed to see. You are the final check to ensure NewMerica stays the perfect safe haven for all.  

2025 is a dystopian 2D puzzle game where you take on the role of a NewMerican media censor officer within a surveillance heavy, authoritarian society. Through the manipulation of text, redaction of sensitive content, and strategic bans of documents, you must maintain the truth of NewMerica, the world's most perfect country.  

Each day you are assigned a stack of the latest news articles that need approval before they are sent out to the public. By using the NewMerican Standard censorship tools you have the ability to cover up scandals, spread false information, and most importantly appease your bosses.  Redact names. Reword events. Black out cities. Ban anything that contradicts the State’s image. And whatever you do, eliminate all signs of the treacherous Green Party and their figurehead, the so-called “Black Swan.”

But beware. The deeper you dig, the more inconsistencies you’ll find. Hidden codes, forbidden names, and subtle signs of rebellion lurk beneath the surface. Can you suppress the truth without losing sight of it?
