About the Game

You just quit your job to build apps from your bedroom.

Mum is charging you $5 a day. ByteWorks already has 4 apps live. The AppMart Review Board is watching. The clock is ticking.

App Developer Tycoon is a turn-based narrative tycoon game about the indie developer grind — from bedroom coder to Silicon Valley HQ.

HOW IT WORKS

Each day you get Action Points to spend. Learn a new skill. Attend a calendar event. Keep your app pipeline flowing. Every decision has real consequences.

  • LEARN — A different skill is available to study each day. Miss it and it's gone until tomorrow.

  • ATTEND EVENTS — Hackathons, investor pitches, design workshops, networking coffees. Some cost money. Some earn money. All of them matter.

  • BUILD APPS — Choose a genre, write a compelling description, give it a name worth remembering. Then wait for the results.

THE APP STORE IS UNFORGIVING

Your apps are reviewed by real (simulated) users. A bad name tanks your score before a single person downloads it. A great description can save a mediocre app. Launch something brilliant and you might read:

"I don't usually leave reviews. I'm leaving one now."

Launch something terrible and:

"My nephew built a better version for a school project."

BUILD YOUR EMPIRE

Progress from Bedroom -> Garage -> Co-working Space -> Studio -> Silicon Valley HQ -> and beyond. Each workspace unlocks new genres, project slots, and possibilities — but comes with rising daily rent. The pressure never stops.

A WORLD THAT REACTS TO YOU

ByteWorks is watching. If your app goes to #1, they'll notice. If they clone your genre, they'll email you about it. The rivals are aggressive. The story events have teeth.

  • Story events with real consequences: take a week off and time actually advances 7 days.

  • A living app economy — trends shift, apps decay, nothing earns forever.

  • 46 Easter eggs hidden in app names (try naming your app "App Developer Tycoon").

  • Tutorial emails from Mum, Dad, your insufferable cousin Kevin, and the AppMart Review Board.

FEATURES

  • Turn-based daily loop — never feels rushed

  • 12 app genres to unlock (Utility, Puzzle, Social, Fitness, Finance, Casual Game, Dating, Photo Editor, Education, AI Tool, VR App, Space Tech)

  • Skill tree up to Level 25 per skill

  • Rival studios that ship, compete, and taunt you

  • Revenue charts, finance logs, Hall of Fame

  • Auto-saves your progress

  • No ads. No microtransactions. Just the grind.

How far can you go?
