An Apathetic World
Built with the ideals of ancient CRPGS in mind, Apathema allows you to step into the Chasm and fight your way through an apathetic world full of strange creatures, secrets, and forgotten shrines.
The monsters you'll face are tough, requiring careful consideration of their weaknesses and abilities.
The world is rife with acid and darkness.
And your only guides might not be all they seem.
Tactical Combat
Manage your turns effectively in this turn-based combat system which leverages limb targeting, parrying, dodging, craftable spells, and unique skills to provide a tactical and engaging experience. Destroy or cripple limbs, exploit weaknesses, and reequip your character on the fly to counter the enemies in your way. But be warned, you're just as vulnerable as the monsters around you, and your turns are much more limited.
Spell Crafting
Use the parts you take from the Chasm to craft either status or direct damage dealing spells and overcome the Chasm. You only get four spell slots to work with, so learning the area you're facing is vital for survival.
Equip Accordingly
Featuring a variety of Armour, Weaponry, Spell-Guns, Passives, and Syringes, make sure to equip what you need to survive. Remember, a loadout for one area may not work for another.
Ensure Your Lantern Doesn't Go Out
Exploring the Chasm is already a dangerous task. To do so without your lantern will quickly lead to your end. Balance the use of your lantern as a tool in both exploration and combat if you want to descend to the bottom of the Chasm. Getting caught in the dark without a way out will see your sanity plummet, and horrors will quickly follow.
