Age of Druids

Age of Druids is a historical turn-based strategy game, based on the Roman conquest of Britannia.

Inspired by the deeds of Hercules and Alexander, Julius Caesar believed that Britannia was where he would cement his legacy. To the classical world Britannia was little more than a legend, an island surrounded by the waters ruled by Oceanus, one of the first gods. If Caesar could conquer this land he would have advanced the Roman Empire beyond the realm of mortal men.

Operational level turn-based strategy

• Walk in the footsteps of Julius Caesar, Boudicca, Claudius and Caratacus, as you lead your Roman legions or the Celtic tribes of Britannia in operational level tactical campaigns to decide the fate of the Britons.

• Plan your campaigns carefully and utilise your scouts, supply networks and the geography of Britannia to win victory over your enemies.

Historical authenticity

• Campaign over faithful recreations of the landscape of Iron Age Britain, as the coastlines and topography are modelled on our best understanding of the island as it was 2,000 years ago.

• Take control of the actual legions that fought in Britannia, including the famous legion of the Ninth (Legio IX Hispana), Legio II Augusta and Legio XX Valeria Victrix, in campaigns covering the period from 55 BC to 61 AD.

2 distinct play styles

• As the Britons you must fight a guerilla campaign using the forests and mountains of Britannia to launch surprise attacks on the Roman forces, target the Roman supply lines to isolate and starve their forces, and attempt to rally the other Celtic tribes to your banner.

• As the Romans you must ensure that your troops are provisioned and your supply lines are protected, that you use your scouting networks effectively and your good judgement to balance diplomacy and conquest with the various Celtic tribes, whilst also hunting down the influential religious leaders of the Britons, the Druids.
