About the Game

After a year of bad dates, failed job applications, and dating apps that seem to attract only the worst kind of men, you've nearly given up on finding the love story you've always written about. One drunken night, you decide to write the man of your dreams into your notebook, every detail of him crafted to your desires.

The next day, he becomes a reality.

As you fall for the impossibly perfect stranger who seems to have stepped straight off your pages, the line between the love you write and who you are begins to blur. You'll wonder if fate has finally answered your prayers, or if you can truly trust the "man of your dreams" when fiction becomes your reality.

Affictionate is a slice-of-life romance visual novel about identity, friendship, and the dangerous gap between fantasy and reality. Set against a contemporary backdrop of late-night bars, motorcycle rides, and quiet apartments, the story follows a chronically single writer rediscovering themselves one choice at a time.

Step into the shoes of an aspiring writer who has spent the last year hiding from their real life. With the support (and occasional teasing) of their close-knit group of friends, you will navigate relationships with charming love interests whose pasts are more complicated than they first appear. Every choice you make shapes who you become, who you lets in, and ultimately, who you chooses for yourself.

  • 5 to 7 hours of branching narrative across multiple paths and endings per love interest, a total of 25-30 hours total on full release.

  • Two distinct endings exploring both healthy and unhealthy relationship dynamics

  • Character customization: choose the protagonist's gender and name to make the story your own

  • Atmospheric soundtrack featuring carefully curated lo-fi, jazz, and ambient tracks

  • A diverse cast including LGBTQ+ supporting and main characters

  • Hand-drawn 2D art with full character expression sets and CG scenes

  • 3 Planned love interest routes based of literary tropes.

Affictionate was written and developed almost entirely by a single person from LATAM Brazil, Kindred Spirit, with artworks made by Bastet Nailah, Alexa Ookami and Hirai!

Affictionate is an adult romance visual novel intended for mature audiences (18+). All characters depicted in romantic or sexual contexts are clearly identified adults. The game contains alcohol consumption, mature language, intimate scenes presented through suggestion and fade-to-black transitions rather than explicit visuals, and one narrative branch involving references to substance abuse framed as cautionary content.
