A Healer's Almanac is a cozy pixel-art life sim inspired by traditional Chinese medicine. Settle into a Chinese-inspired mountain valley, take up the work of a village healer, and build a life around observation, cultivation, and care.
Days unfold at a gentle pace. Grow medicinal herbs, forage through the changing seasons, craft remedies, deepen friendships, and help a close-knit community flourish beneath the rhythm of the twenty-four solar terms.
DIAGNOSIS IS THE GAMEPLAY
When a villager falls ill, the answer is not shown on a health bar. Gather clues through the Four Examinations and work out the pattern behind their symptoms.
Observe visible signs such as complexion, tongue, and posture.
Listen carefully and ask questions about how the patient feels.
Read the pulse through a rhythm-based diagnostic challenge.
Combine the clues you uncover to identify layered patterns of imbalance.
Treat the patient with herbs, decoctions, acupoints, food, and lifestyle care.
Treatment unfolds as a turn-based healing encounter. Target the factors behind an illness, sequence compatible remedies to create combinations, and clear every imbalance before your available turns run out. A careful diagnosis makes every treatment easier.
LIVE BY THE ALMANAC
The year turns through four seasons and the twenty-four solar terms. Weather, crops, wild herbs, village routines, and seasonal events all move with the calendar.
Plant seasonal crops, water them by hand or let the rain help, and harvest ingredients for food and medicine. Establish an orchard with more than twenty varieties of fruit trees, cultivate dedicated herb beds, and explore caves and wild areas for plants, minerals, and discoveries.
CRAFT REMEDIES FROM WHAT YOU GATHER
Everything begins with the land. Forage herbs of different rarities and qualities, grow your own ingredients, and process them into useful materials.
Build medicinal formulas around a sovereign herb, then refine them with assistant, envoy, and adjuvant ingredients. Cook restorative meals, dry and process herbs, forge tools, weave garments, and craft useful objects for daily village life.
There is no conventional shop economy. Nothing is bought or sold: progress comes from growing, gathering, crafting, gifting, sharing, and caring for the people around you.
A VILLAGE THAT GROWS WITH YOU
Meet villagers who follow their own daily and seasonal schedules. Talk with them, learn their favorite gifts, help with their requests, and care for them when illness strikes. As your relationships deepen, their personal stories and roles in the community unfold.
Take part in village discussions and vote on community projects. Help gather construction materials and watch new shared spaces open as the village grows.
Later, Doudou, a small robot companion, can help with farming, foraging, deliveries, and other daily work. Upgrade its abilities, battery, memory, and storage as it becomes a trusted partner around the valley.
YOUR LIFE, YOUR PACE
There is no conventional combat and no permanent game-over state. Time pauses while you read dialogue, browse menus, or experience major story moments, leaving you free to learn the systems and explore at your own rhythm.
Grow what the season allows. Listen before you diagnose. Rest when the day is done. Then wake to a new morning and continue filling the pages of your almanac.
