8 itemsAbout the Game
In A Fox Tale, you will play as Eva as she embarks on her quest to discover if she is the last of her kind.
For the control mechanics, we dedicated a lot of time and effort to creating a physics system that makes traversing the changing environments feel smooth and responsive. You will run, jump, climb, dash and swing your way through the five biomes in the game, each of which introduces its own mechanics to the experience.
Each biome in A Fox Tale is split into small levels, allowing instant retries and little lost progress when coming up short on a jump or falling off a ledge into a pit of spikes.
FEATURES
Fast, responsive movement
Hundreds of handcrafted levels
Optional collectables and challenges
Instant re-spawning
Constantly evolving mechanics
For the level design, each level was initially hand drawn to find the best combinations of mechanics. From there, we build an outline in the game engine, playtest, improve it, and once we are happy, decorate the level and add it to the game. Here's an example of how a level started in the notebook, and how it looked when completed.
