About the Game

A Favor For The Alchemist is a short. escape room style puzzle game where you play as the apprentice to an alchemist. The alchemist's material condenser isn't working quite right, so they've tasked you with figuring out how to get it working again. Through exploring the room, deciphering the alchemist's notes, examining EVERYTHING closely, math, and some brainpower, you'll get the machine back up and running in no time!

This game includes:

  • Eight puzzles to solve within the room

  • Mixing alchemy ingredients to draw out their effects

  • A quiet, sunset environment to relax and puzzle-solve to

  • No time limits (except for an achievement)

  • No AI generated assets

Interacting with the environment is done entirely through left and right mouse clicks, so the focus is on what needs to be interacted with rather than how.

Inspired by games like Myst, figuring out how the mechanisms around you work is as much a part of the puzzle as the puzzle itself.

This game was originally created for the Inbound Shovel game jam 2025, this is a refined and polished version created for a full release.
