About the Game

Today, in Big Calendar Sky Year 226, Planet Big-1 is about to end to its own hubris.

A company is about to launch its new robot weapon with no safeties. You must rescue everybody you can from the end of the world.

This 2D sidescroller takes place inside a space colony called Toy World, from which you can watch the apocalypse play out across the heavens. You will collect armor and power-ups, you will customize yourself to your greatest desired strengths, and you will have to defeat an enemy who learns from you. Your mission ends when the monster is defeated.

No generative tools of any kind were used to make this game, its concepts, its ideas, or its development tools.

The only AI in this game are the machines you can rip apart with your bare hands.

A Beginning is the fourth chapter of The Moon Wars, a multi-part series in a universe terrifyingly close to ours.

  • 2D Sidescrolling platformer that controls with 2 action buttons (jump and violence).

  • Almost 20 individually nonlinear stages presented in a specifically curated linear order.

  • Customize your character's abilities with the Magic Power-Up system.

  • Obtain new skills and techniques as the plot advances.

  • Fight a robot monster that learns from you as it fights.

  • Chain together techniques for a high score using the ingame combo system.

  • Read through paragraphs and paragraphs of lore about the universe and factions.

  • Do all these things within the timer or else the entire space colony will be obliterated.

  • Everything in this game was made by one person.
